Stairway to Heaven and The Absent Sofa

My husband and I went on a long hike last week. He was my guide, taking me to a shrine he often visits. When we got to the foot of the stairs that lead up to the shrine, I had the sudden urge to start singing Led Zepplin's "Stairway to Heaven." I held back on that urge since I don't know the words and I had to save my breath for all those stairs. I would guess there were enough stairs to equal 12 flights of stairs. Half way up, a beautiful calico cat came out of the woods from the nearby neighborhood, and we stopped to look at her as she stopped to look at us. Most of the way up was quiet with only the sounds and smells from the evergreen trees lining each side.

On our way home, Matt commented how, in 22 years of marriage, we have never bought a sofa. We have had hand-me down sofas given to us, but we have never bought one. My mother-in-law gave us our first sofa. She has wonderful taste, and it was the nicest piece of furniture in our apartment. We have never bought a T.V. either . If I were to own a sofa, I would want this one. It looks comfy.

Pretty sure I would have had a heart attack climbing those stairs!

Funny about the sofa thing...we've only bought one brand new, and we'd been married at least 12 years by then.

The shrine sounds beautiful.

lol about the sofa. We've been together 10 years and have never bought one new either. Guess that's more common then a lot of people realize.

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
