Shadow Shot Sunday and 100 Ideas/100 days

I took this photo with my sister's camera when we were in Santa Nella, California. Central California is dry and hot in summer. The brown foothills and tailored lawns make for a surreal contrast to the blue sky. There are some shadows in the hills and the trees. I love driving through the foothills in summer. For more shadow shot photos, please visit Hey harriet's Blog.

No. 40: Draw all of the things in your bag. I actually took this photo in 2007, but I thought it would work well for this challenge. Instead of a drawing, I am using a photograph. I had taken everything that was in my bag out and arranged it together for this photo.

I can't believe what I had been carrying around! This bag served as my art bag, shopping bag and gym bag. Why I have an airline ticket stub and a pet bottle cap in there is beyond me! There is a horseradish root that I had forgotten to put in the fridge.

I live at the base of the Rockies. I love to watch the shadows of the mountains change as the sun moves across the sky. I love the subtle, soft shadows of this shot of yours. Beautiful

What a great shot - how beautiful! At first we almost thought it was a computer generated scene....the colors are really super!

Love your collage of the things in your bag - quite funny about the horseradish root.....we think we'll go clean out our purses right now - ha!!

I love the subtle colours of the hills in this shot, and your collage of your bag contents is very clever.

I missed the hill foot as I came from the countryside.

It looks like where our farmstead are. So cozy & warm. Just what I need now §:-)

Cheers!

I like that horseradish root..now if you planted it, you would have a nice crop of horseradish..My grandmother always made horseradish for Easter..Powerful stuff, bought many a tear to my eye..Happy SSS..

Great pictures! love the contrast in the one... the interesting items in your bag almost make me want to carry a bag! i don't though... except to the store, library, or work (to carry stuff needed.) My pockets get overloaded at times, though!

Thanks to everybody for visiting and all your comments. My bag was always heavy. So this year my sister gave me a new bag. I now I have a smaller one, so it is lighter and with less stuff.

Sweet Repose, I have never been to Mt. Shasta.

Bobbi, that must be amazing to live with the Rockies in view.

Rosebud, I had never tasted horseradish until I came to Japan. That is interesting that your Grandmother made it for Easter.

Chris, I wish I could go without a bag.

The contrast between the hills and the crops is so extreme, I can't begin to imagine how intensive the irrigation must be. It's a beautful perspective.

Quite an interesting collection of items in that bag! Your foothills shot is lovely. The contrast between the green and the barren hills is so startling and dramatic.
