Looking at the Sky on Friday

I am joining this photography meme for the first time. Yesterday was a really warm and sunny day. I got out of the house and took a two hour walk through an old part of the city and alongside Hirose River. I will be posting more shots from this walk throughout the week.

Kawaramachi Towers by Gallery Juana

These two towers stand alone in a neighborhood. They mark the neighborhood of Kawaramachi in Miyagi Prefecture, Japan. I am not sure how many floors there are, but my guess is definitely more than 5o floors. For a small town girl, that's a tall building:) Whenever there is an earthquake, the elevators stop working, so to return to your apartment, you have to take the stairs!

living in a house like that:
you never know when it's gym time!

(you have to walk up to 14th, 32nd etc. floor, oh, that would be good training!)

the buildings are so dark and the sky so pretty and delicate--love it!

The perspective of the tall buildings being just tiny in comparison with the vast sky! Beautiful sky!

Nice angle to your photograph. I would hate to climb those stairs, but worse yet...to be in the building during the earthquake!

welcome to looking at the sky :)

Wow! They're huge! Walking up 50 floors would be quite a workout! If earthquakes were happening regularly over there I'd be locating to a ground floor apartment I think!

Such a powerful photo! I love the bright sky behind this magnificent man made structure. Very nicely captured.

Thanks so much for joining us. :)

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
