Sepia Scenes

I was on the bus and it happened to get the red light which gave me a chance to take a photo of this statue. I have passed this way several times but have never actually noticed what is in the building! I always just look at the statue.

A Classic. What could be more sepia than an aged statue. And the way you cropped it, you would never know its setting was Japan.

What an interesting building and beautiful statue. It looks wonderful in sepia. I also got a chuckle out of your Rony Wrinkle shot below ;-)

It is a lovely photo - I thought perhaps it had been taken in Italy when I saw the first photo. It looks like one of the classic sculptures I would expect to see there. I like the sheen on the wreath and hair.

Very cool. Almost like sepia in original.

It certainly seems out of place in its surroundings.
You were right to crop it - well done!

My post is on my photoblog: Carletta’s Captures.

Lovely sepia shot, I can understand you not paying attention to the statues surrounding.

I would not have imagined such a statue in a street in Japan. Great in sepia.

Serendipity at work! The statue is great in sepia tones. How nice of the light to turn red so you could take this shot. ;-)
Great shot. I thought you had visited some art museum when I first saw it. (maybe that's whats in the building???) I never would have thought it was in Japan standing on a busy street. Beautiful in sepia. Enjoyed visiting Japan through your blog. Thanks for sharing.

What a lovely surprise to learn that you took this photo in Japan and I wonder what that says about my expectations. The sepia gives her such softness. She's beautiful.

Thanks everyone for coming by:)

PJ, I think they are just office buildings, but I will have to take a closer look. That'd be great if there was a gallery in there!
What a beautiful statue..You know, it almost looks out of place in front of the building.

Juana, yes a classic (in the sense of Greek or roman) statue of beauty! A perfect sepia subject! Thanks for participating! :)

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
