Shoes, Sauerkraut, Sausages and Cravings

I get cravings often. Do you? Monday and Tuesday are my days off, so as soon as Sunday hits, I stock up on what I am craving. It is usually Mexican beans, salsa and corn tortillas or Tom Yun Kun noodle soup. It depends how heavy my wallet is. Both require a trip to the Foreign foods store, which means higher prices. The craving for Mexican food will cost me about 1500 Yen (15 USD, 21 AUD, 11 Euros). The Tom Yun Kun noodle soup is just 150 yen. Big difference on the budget! This weekend it's the noodle soup 'cuz I splurged last Sunday!

My husband is pretty much a health nut, but his German roots ring true when he craves sauerkraut and sausages. On Monday, we stopped by the Foreign Food shop to see if we could find something to meet his craving. No luck there. We did get some good cheese and crackers though. And I got this shot of our shoes in the shop. The harsh light was from the cold cuts/cheese section.

Tell me about cravings...I'm a Native New Yorker living in AZ; the land of bad bread...le sigh.

I really like the shoes shot, lots of texture. Shoes are so intriguing, I always wonder where the feet have been and where they will go.

This is such a wonderful image! I love shoe shots! The vast difference in sizes is cute! I often have cravings for Mexican and thankfully it isn't very expensive over here to satisy those urges! Phew!

Thank everyone for coming by.
I think my feet look smaller than they really are because my boot-legged jeans were covering most of the shoe.

Mercado, I often think the same about shoes.

Rosebud, Oohhh, I bet your Mom's Easter dinner was delicious.

Xue, what a coincidence that your husband is German!

Blue-eyed Siamese Cat flies to Japan

Today was filled with my art and time with Sputnik. She was bathing herself which gave me the chance to catch a photo of her. I actually adopted Sputnik as a kitten in 1998 when I was living in Mexico. She made the long trip with me to Japan on July 25, 2004. It took me about 6 months to plan the logistics of bringing her from Mexico to Japan. Since I had to fly via the U.S. on Mexicana Airlines and Korean Airlines, that meant 4 countries and two airlines would need to approve her transport. There were many details to keep track of for each country and airline. After 6 months of stressful planning, 16 hours of two airline flights and layovers, She made it to Japan safely! Korean Air allowed her to fly with me as my carry-on luggage, which was a relief for me. No worrying about whether she was scared or left at the Los Angeles airport! I didn't give her any tranquilizer to sedate her. Yet, she was quiet the entire flight and went unnoticed by other passengers. I h
