The Great Escape

sputnik on the windowsill

Summer mornings in central California mean cool breezes with lots of sunshine.  Sputnik usually escapes to her lookout on the windowsill.

Hubby has been reading "The Great Escape" by Paul Brickhill.   Lately, I've been wanting to escape into another world by reading a book at night, and I found the incentive to do so.  While in the Etsy forums today, I learned about a book club that just started.   The idea is to create a piece based on a book that members have read, then upload the artwork to the Flickr group.   For more information, visit The Crafty Book Club blog.

What is your favorite way to escape into another world?

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Sputnik looks so cute, seems like she is saying "and what are you looking at?". The book club sounds great, I just might be too busy right now to put any more on my plate.

I forgot to add on the post.

I believe we'll have two months to read the book and create an art piece inspired by our reading.

Marlene, I know what you mean about having so much we want to do but not enough time.

I love this picture of Sputnik. Looks like she is making for the great escape and was caught in the act.

I can not stand it when I finish a good book..it is hard to get started in another..My father use to tell me.."A good book is like a good friend"..

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
