Sketchbook Project 2011 wip

I'm almost done with the sketchbook.  My goal was to have it done by the end of November, but it doesn't look like that will happen.  It had been 7 years since I'd been in the U.S., so I'd forgotten how busy it can get around the Thanksgiving holiday.  The due date is January 15th, so I've still got enough time to mail it in.

I am continuing to illustrate the story of Baucis and Philemon.   This is the first stage of this sketch.  I drew the image on rice paper with a sakura pen.   That was then glued to the sketchbook page which had already been collaged with a page from an old dictionary.  These are portraits of me and my husband.

Wow, Juana...that is beautiful. It is so unique how you chose to do those self-portrait. Just lovely.

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
