Autumn Shadows

thistle
autumn 2010

These flowers were as tall as me.  We'd taken a dirt road into the fields near the bike trail where we ride. I just thought they were so pretty with their muted, earthy colors.

Terrific shadow shot for the day! Hard to realize that you're just approaching your cold season as we're trying to move on to spring! Have a great weekend!

I love these colours too. I like how you've captured only part of the dried blossom.

They are very pretty and quite unusual looking. I've not seen plants like that around where I am.

I do hope that you get a little herb garden up and running this year. With any luck I'll have the grasshopper situation under control by the time your garden is established. So then if you need grasshopper advice I'll be able to provide it. I think I may be deluding myself... ;)

Have a great week!

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments and visits.

I hadn't been down that dirt trail before, so I haven't seen these plants in Spring. I'll definitely be going by again to get another look at these plants.
IF SHADOWS COULD TALK

If shadows could talk,
Just what would they say?
If you listen close,
You’ll hear them, you may.
Shadows do chatter
And gossip and talk
In the store windows,
Along the sidewalk,
Over the mountains,
On prairie and plain,
Begging for sunshine
And not days of rain;
Emboldened by light,
The stark shadows say:
“We’re out for a lark,
Please join us at play!”

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
