Portrait, Sunday Sketches

portrait
Portrait

I haven't settled on any project yet, so I spent the week just playing with my pencils and paper.

I used pencil, conte crayons and blended with a white charcoal pencil for the above portrait.  I then drew lines around the portrait with the metal tip of my mechanical pencil and rubbed charcoal over that.  The charcoal skipped over the dents in the paper.   This drawing has given me some ideas to explore this coming week.

Hope everyone had a good weekend.

this is really neat, it's like a face of the moon in a tree...really cool idea!

I really REALLY like this. Wow! Nice job. What are conte crayons? Seems like a few folks are using crayons, mixed in with other media as of late.

Thanks for participating once again. =) and so sorry for the late visit. hugs!

Maybe because I just watched sleeping beauty with my kids, but this reminds me so much of the mirror mirror on the wall in that story. great job with the blending and white charcoal!

Always think of all of you, even if you don't hear from me..xoxoRosebud/Carolyn
