Bicycle Shadows and The Rogue Festival

Every year around this time, the Rogue Festival takes place in Fresno, California.  It's modeled after the worldwide Fringe festival.  I've always been out of the country so have never had the chance to participate.

It's an amazing event that features comedy, theatre, dance, art, music, poetry, burlesque, magic and much more.   This year is my first year to participate in the art phase and I have 5 canvas works on display at City Arts Gallery in the Tower District.  We attended the kick-off event at Full Circle Brewery.

I was the designated driver, so no chance for me to have a dark beer.  While my husband was waiting in line to get his dark ale, I spotted the neon bike resting on one of the ceiling's beams.

Neon Bike Love

The weather started warming up in early February and we headed out on our bikes for lunch and a long ride.  There was no bike rack so we improvised with the tree.

Wishing everyone a wonderful Shadow Shot Sunday and blog hopping.  First stop is HeyHarriet's blog for more shadows.

Those bikes are a bold neon, and so cool! The real bikes under the tree leave shadows that are nice, the temperate day under a warm sun. Perfect for a riding couple to see marvelous art...

That festival sounds like so much fun! I wish I could attend. And I really like the Neon Bike Love pic! Your shadow shot is sweet with the pair of cycles snuggled up together under the tree. You've continued the bike love theme with that photo! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Blue-eyed Siamese Cat flies to Japan

Today was filled with my art and time with Sputnik. She was bathing herself which gave me the chance to catch a photo of her. I actually adopted Sputnik as a kitten in 1998 when I was living in Mexico. She made the long trip with me to Japan on July 25, 2004. It took me about 6 months to plan the logistics of bringing her from Mexico to Japan. Since I had to fly via the U.S. on Mexicana Airlines and Korean Airlines, that meant 4 countries and two airlines would need to approve her transport. There were many details to keep track of for each country and airline. After 6 months of stressful planning, 16 hours of two airline flights and layovers, She made it to Japan safely! Korean Air allowed her to fly with me as my carry-on luggage, which was a relief for me. No worrying about whether she was scared or left at the Los Angeles airport! I didn't give her any tranquilizer to sedate her. Yet, she was quiet the entire flight and went unnoticed by other passengers. I h
