Shadows and Five Senses Friday

Essential Oil Perfume
Patchouli Essential Oil Perfume
A bit of colorful and dark shadows today.

Smell:
I recently bought a dark patchouli essential oil perfume which has a rich, spicy and earthy scent. Patchouli is supposed to lift the mood and reduce mental fatigue. That's why I originally got interested in this scent, but now I'm just addicted to how it smells.

Hearing:
Taking a nap today with my window open, I was lulled to sleep by the birds singing.

Sight:
Out in my husband's garden picking lettuce, arugula and spinach. Some volunteer plants have sprouted as well: a tomato plant and some kind of melon plant.

Touch:
I found a shop that imports fabrics from India and bought 3 different fabrics to sew some clothes. Being a complete beginner, I found some simple, no pattern tutorials online for a dress and skirt. Can't wait to try them out.

Taste:
Next to the fabric shop was an Indian Food Market. I bought some Paneer cheese for tonight's curry dinner.

Wishing everyone a feast for their senses. Abbytryagain started the Five Senses Friday on her blog.

ah patchouli! takes me back to the 60's! I love that scent.

And thanks for the lovely tour through the senses. A nice reminder to wake up and savour them all!

What a tasty post, Juana! Patchouli is one of fave scents--be it in perfume form, incense, anything. Your fabric selections are lovely--love all the blues. Hope you might show your finished sewing projects here--I would love to see! I'm attempting to sew my own t-shirt, making up pattern and all as I go along...we'll see how it goes...LOL! Paneer cheese--YUM! It's hard to come by here, but it's wonderful to do with a curry-spinach sauce. Thanks so much for you kind thoughts on my painting/feature--means a lot from a very pro artist such as yourself. :o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

The shadow is wonderful, all the things about it: the beautiful shape of the bottle, the dark copper shadow, and the aroma. Well, I am not familiar with that - however with all the visceral sights here, I'll take your word for it!

Blue-eyed Siamese Cat flies to Japan

Today was filled with my art and time with Sputnik. She was bathing herself which gave me the chance to catch a photo of her. I actually adopted Sputnik as a kitten in 1998 when I was living in Mexico. She made the long trip with me to Japan on July 25, 2004. It took me about 6 months to plan the logistics of bringing her from Mexico to Japan. Since I had to fly via the U.S. on Mexicana Airlines and Korean Airlines, that meant 4 countries and two airlines would need to approve her transport. There were many details to keep track of for each country and airline. After 6 months of stressful planning, 16 hours of two airline flights and layovers, She made it to Japan safely! Korean Air allowed her to fly with me as my carry-on luggage, which was a relief for me. No worrying about whether she was scared or left at the Los Angeles airport! I didn't give her any tranquilizer to sedate her. Yet, she was quiet the entire flight and went unnoticed by other passengers. I h
