new shoes
my sister's new shoes

My sister brightened my day when I saw her latest addition to her shoe collection. These would make going anywhere fun.

May has given us lots of rain and beautiful, Spring days. My husband's garden has given us plenty of salad greens to eat. I also enjoyed shopping for essential oil, Indian food and fabrics.

The lemon tree sits several feet away from Sputnik's favorite window perch.  A dove built her nest in the tree some time ago.  I'm not sure if the dove's eggs have hatched yet, but I love how she coos in the evening.

Hi there,

just staying in touch with you, and your sisters shoes remind me of two sets of stylish converse I recently got at a great price...

I love Doves and the way they sing...

What great photos! I love the way your cat's eyes just pop. And your sisters shoes? They totally made me smile. In fact, my 2-year old screamed "SHOESSSSSSSS!" when she saw the photo on my laptop screen. lol

Thanks so much for joining in with Project Smile. I host a Wordless Wednesday linky as well if you'd like to swing by tonight to link up again. Following you now via GFC and "liked" your FB fan page as well. Have a great day.

Hi, Juana! LOVE your sis's sneaker--those make for happy feet! Beautiful Sputnik...her blue eyes captivate. A dove's nest... so sweet. I miss the sound of mourning doves.
Lovely to be back and catching up with you here after our travels. After two weeks away from my studio, I'm itching to dig into some creativity again! I think we'll need the weekend to get over the jet lag and get back on track first. ;o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

Blue-eyed Siamese Cat flies to Japan

Today was filled with my art and time with Sputnik. She was bathing herself which gave me the chance to catch a photo of her. I actually adopted Sputnik as a kitten in 1998 when I was living in Mexico. She made the long trip with me to Japan on July 25, 2004. It took me about 6 months to plan the logistics of bringing her from Mexico to Japan. Since I had to fly via the U.S. on Mexicana Airlines and Korean Airlines, that meant 4 countries and two airlines would need to approve her transport. There were many details to keep track of for each country and airline. After 6 months of stressful planning, 16 hours of two airline flights and layovers, She made it to Japan safely! Korean Air allowed her to fly with me as my carry-on luggage, which was a relief for me. No worrying about whether she was scared or left at the Los Angeles airport! I didn't give her any tranquilizer to sedate her. Yet, she was quiet the entire flight and went unnoticed by other passengers. I h
