Joy Pockets

detail of 8 x 10 nest collage
detail of 8 x 10 nest and heart collage

I've been busy working on a custom collage these past couple of weeks. Just a few more details and then the final varnish, and it'll be finished.

I was introduced to Bohemian Twilight's Joy Pockets theme through mamajots' blog.   Just this week I started jotting down gratitudes at the end of the day, and I thought the joy pockets theme fit with this perfectly.

Gratitudes

savoring my 100%, no sugar added, Guava Juice

Laughing at my Husband's corny jokes

Hearing my Mom say "we're the luckiest people in the world" because we hit all the green lights.

Salsa made with veggies from the garden

afternoon nap with my cat

completing three 1-hour workouts at the gym this week

Falling asleep to the cooing of our resident Dove

hearing the crickets outside my window

Hope everyone had a good week and wishing you a wonderful weekend.

Oh lovely pockets of joy! I smiled when I read your mum`s comment about the lights and falling asleep to a cooing dove is beautiful as are veggies from the garden for salsa. Congratulations on your workouts - I haven`t been so diligent.

Oh my goodness!!!! I just noticed your sketchbook project banner! I just went yesterday as they are here in Orlando! I am sad to say that I didn't see your journal but am happy that I can see your work here!!!
Your sumi-e is beautiful. Funny enough my Japanese mother is going to start taking classes here soon. She is a painter but haven't done it for so long. I'm excited for her to get back to her brushes. I digress. Anyway, so nice to meet you!!

Your collage is pure delight, loving a peek at the tender layers. I keep a gratitude journal too, it is a great way to really get in touch with what happens in a day, and just how much there is to be thankful for. Thanks for sharing what's been happening in your world. :o) Happy Days ((HUGS))

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
