Deer III

deer III
Deer III, pen on paper
I'm gradually getting back into my art.

The wildlife that I see almost daily has influenced my recent drawings.

I've seen deer that roam near the trails that I've hiked.  Today, I saw one walking down the road from our rental house.  I got a photo of one which I used as the basis for the above portrait.

Wishing everyone a good weekend, and I look forward to catching up on everyone's Sunday sketches .

I always love to see deer - so timid.

Nice to see you here again.

I love the texture you created through pattern. Fab!

Nature will do that to you. I'm glad you're living in such a soothing place.
Your sketches continue to amaze me. You seem to know the right area of detail and such as well. :)

Love the job you did here because the patterns and neon colors are really fun and unexpected, and yet the image still captures the grace of the deer.

(You're so lucky that you get to see them near the house!)

WOW, Juana... I love the vibrant, almost neon-like colors in this one! It almost looks like cell drawings. I've been doing shamanic journeying this year, another step in my spiritual development, and the deer, the doe, the female deer is my power animal. So this was fun to see. :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
