man and bird drawing

migration I
migration 1
I found this sketch recently that I did when I was living in Japan. I was actually at work waiting for my student to arrive. While I waited I picked up some scratch paper and drew.   The scratch paper is dated Jan 10, 2009.

The bird just appeared but I liked how the figure and bird worked together. This drawing fits perfectly into my migration theme that I'm working on now.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend and I look forward to seeing what everyone has been up to this week.

It's fun to find old sketches, and revisit the time period in our lives, sometimes!

How exciting to find an old or earlier drawing you did that resonates for you so well today. I love his expression, the fullness of his personality and that of the duck. Very well done and all the cross hatching makes it very dramatic!

I love the feeling of this sketch, Juana! There is a sense of anticipation about it. There is a bit of whimsy too. And the hatching technique heights the whole thing--it is wonderful! :o) Happy Week ((HUGS))

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
