golden autumn

neighborhood cat
“I cannot endure to waste anything so precious as autumnal sunshine by staying in the house.”
― Nathaniel Hawthorne, The American Notebooks

I usually go out in the afternoon for a bicycle ride or run, but last Thursday, the sunrise beckoned me out for a walk. On my way out of the neighborhood, I met this kitty cat.

I don't know his name and haven't figured out which neighbor he resides with, but I see him everywhere. My house is along his territorial path, but he always disappears before I have a chance to get out the back door to visit with him. This time, I met him on a neighborhood trail. He was sitting quietly and allowed me to settle near him and take his picture.

Great News! On October 13th I'll be posting on my art blog about my feature in Seth Apter's latest art book.
