first walk in March

sun breaking over pastures

I walk to the store most days. If I have a lot to bring home, I take my bicycle or my husband comes with me. Tuesday we decided to go for a long walk and do the grocery shopping. It had been raining in the morning and the clouds were just breaking. As we walked, I realized that Spring was in full spring with some trees in full bloom.

little free library

Just before arriving at the store, we passed a little free library stand. Have you seen one of these in your neighborhood?

marina

On the last stretch of our walk home, we passed the marina. I believe this crane is here to help with some repairs of the dock.

The long walk warmed my heart and was a great start to the month of March.

That first image is stunning! I have missed my walks this winter. It's been too cold and muddy.

You are so lucky that spring arrived. Here in Brussels it's still cold and grey !

I too like the looks of this part of your world. Warms my heart since we moved last August we have to go way out of town (Houston/Katy) to see any hills or a larger lake. Back when Adi (search my blog for her) would go for regular walks we'd see both before we got home.
..
Looks a lovely calm start to March out your way - hope you have been able to put your feet up and read a good book?!

Lovely photos of where you walk. We have little free libraries in our neighbourhoods as well. Some are quite elaborate and some are simple little book-shelters. Whatever, they are such a good idea.

I love those free libraries. I want to put one in our little town but we are totally inept woodworkers. Understatement.

I love your warm hearted share here.

It truly made me smile for week 16.

Thank you.

Blue-eyed Siamese Cat flies to Japan

Today was filled with my art and time with Sputnik. She was bathing herself which gave me the chance to catch a photo of her. I actually adopted Sputnik as a kitten in 1998 when I was living in Mexico. She made the long trip with me to Japan on July 25, 2004. It took me about 6 months to plan the logistics of bringing her from Mexico to Japan. Since I had to fly via the U.S. on Mexicana Airlines and Korean Airlines, that meant 4 countries and two airlines would need to approve her transport. There were many details to keep track of for each country and airline. After 6 months of stressful planning, 16 hours of two airline flights and layovers, She made it to Japan safely! Korean Air allowed her to fly with me as my carry-on luggage, which was a relief for me. No worrying about whether she was scared or left at the Los Angeles airport! I didn't give her any tranquilizer to sedate her. Yet, she was quiet the entire flight and went unnoticed by other passengers. I h
