Ghost Dreams - The Dream Chronicles

I often dream through my conflicts. These dreams sometimes follow a theme or appear in sequence. I work out my questions through my dreams. There are a total of five Ghost dreams. With each dream, I started to understand the conflict I was trying to avoid thinking about. These are the third and fourth entries in "The Dream Chronicles."

The Third Ghost dream

This dream was very quick and short. In the dream, I am at my parent's house. I'm sitting in the kitchen. Suddenly, the ghost pulls my chair across the kitchen, placing me in front of the kitchen window, facing my parents who are outside in the front yard.

The Fourth Ghost dream

Since I was a child, I have had the fear of looking in a mirror when the lights are off. I know there is nothing to fear, and sometimes I force myself to look in the mirror just to prove to myself that I am being silly.

In the dream, I have woken up at night. I am in my parents bathroom with the lights on. I am at the sink standing in front of the medicine cabinet which has a mirror on its door. The medicine cabinet door is open. When I close it, the image in the mirror is the ghost. I scream "Leave me alone!" and pound the sink in anger. At this point, I wake up from the dream. I could clearly remember the image in the mirror, and now fully awake, I begin to realise it was me as a young girl.

With this fourth dream, I understood that the ghost was me. I had been struggling with wanting to be home in California, yet needing to stay in Japan for work. I was emotionally being pulled in two.

Your artwork is beautiful!

i can relate to your dreams too. and the mirror thing, i am the same way. i had many many realistic dreams and experiences as a teen when a friend of mine (close friend) passed away suddenly. and i cant look in anything that reflects now (mirrors or windows) when its dark. i know its silly too, but weird feeling i guess. i know nothing can hurt me, but still! lol
I think there is so much to be said about dreams..Mine are never worth anything..I am sure the separation is very hard..
Sending you our love and blessings for a Happy Thanksgiving..even if it isn't celebrated there and then, maybe you might celebrate..

wow.

first of all, beautiful drawing. i always liked working with ink in art classes.

secondly, dreams and dream interpretations has always interested me. much like you, i'm also able to come up with solutions or clarity on an issue i'm struggling with by analyzing my dreams. it's all pretty amazing.
Your interpretation is stellar. The art work is magnificant.Keep growing.
Nice work! And I love your dreams!

What a beautiful ink painting! Your dreams are very interesting. Mine are not. Or maybe mine are, but weirdly I can never remember them. I'm not sure what that means. If it means anything... :)

misknits, interesting to know that you have the thing with mirrors as well.

rosebud and harriet, I think some people just tend to remember their dreams.

I have the same fear of looking in a mirror in the dark...

Well if you are interested, ghosts represents aspects of yourself that you fear. and could be stuff like guilt, or something you regret.. and it could aslo mean that you are scared of death. Usually though, ghosts represent something that is no longer applicable to your life at the moment and not within reach representing that you are feeling out of place in life, and even disconnected. The dream may be telling you that you need to move on and that that is the step you need to take.

I really enjoyed your post.

Kiendra, thank you for visiting and for your informative comment. What you said about mirrors and ghosts was spot on, and I had concluded the same as well.

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
