Experimental - Photo Theme for Thursday

self-porrtrait photo
This is my first entry for this group. I was trying to take a self-portrait. I had my camera on self-timer. I moved to change my pose just as the photo clicked. Even though it was a mistake, I liked how it came out. I think it expresses the state I'm in when I am painting.

Thursday Challenge is a place for photographic fun and learning. A theme is announced on this site each week.

Many times the shots I like best I like because of their imperfections rather than in spite of them.

In this case, the motion blur gives the shot a painting-like quality that's uniquely suited to the subject. A knife sharp image would capture things that you won't get in this one. An expression, a look of concentration, minute details of the scene that are lost here. But what it would not capture is the flow of creativity required to render a painting from a blank canvas or paper.

Wonderful interpretation of the theme I'd say.

fun - I like the interplay of the focus and out of focus and the balance of the light and dark. The movement makes it very interesting!

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
