Determination out of Chaos

Daydream I

This was my first New Year’s Eve in Mexico.
I lay in bed thinking about the coming year and what I hoped to accomplish.  I could hear the activity outside our 2nd floor bedroom as the neighbors were starting their parties.
The super-loud bottle rockets started about 10:30 p.m. and went off about every 20 minutes from different locations in our neighborhood.
I stayed awake becoming more frustrated as the early morning hours progressed until something happened.  I could hear a child’s voice from the neighbor across.   She had begun to read as loudly as she could, and it was obvious that she had just learned to read and was delighting in that fact. She read non-stop through all the chaos.  Nothing could prevent her from reaching her goal.
With this I stopped being frustrated at the fact that I couldn’t sleep, and embraced this little girl’s determination and enthusiasm for the New Year.

Some quotes on Chaos:
Chaos is inherent in all compounded things. Strive on with diligence.
Buddha

Invention, it must be humbly admitted, does not consist in creating out of voice, but out of chaos.
Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley

One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star.
Friedrich Nietzsche

I have a great belief in the fact that whenever there is chaos, it creates wonderful thinking. I consider chaos a gift.

Happy New Year, Juana! Much creativity can come from chaos, I think... Wise words here, and greatly embellished with your painting--love all the bold red! Happy Weekend :o) ((HUGS))

I think for some reason this is one of my favorites. Maybe because there is so much chaos in my life. I can relate.
Take care.

lol. I'm not too sure of that! I should be a philosopher queen then, given the chaos in my skull.

nice painting!
You have done such a nice post and I really adore this painting. I would say to thank you for sharing this picture.

Married Shadows

My husband and I haven't had a T.V. for the last 15 years, maybe more, so we often go to see movies at the Cinema. The last couple of ones that I've enjoyed have been Transformers II and Terminator IV. Two more of my favorites are Slumdog Millionare and Milk. These latter two were well done movies from all angles (acting, script, cinematography). This is us after an afternoon at the movies and eating out. We had just come from Starbucks and were heading to the train station. For more shadow shots and to learn how to join this Meme, please visit Hey Harriet's blog .
