Shadow Shot Sunday

This photo is from the walk my husband and I took last week. Part of the trail went under the Shinkansen tracks. I love taking the Shinkansen. It is a smooth ride with comfortable and roomy seats. It's average operating speed is 170.8 mph (275 kmh). The Shinkansen has its own set of tracks. The tracks rest on massive, concrete columns and meander through the city.

Love the colours and contrast in your shadow shot. I'm very slack, I still haven't taken mine yet :o

This shadow shot looks like art. The texture, colour...everything works. Nice shot Gallery! :) Loved your shadow shot from last week also.

The Shinkansen is very high speed, is it not? The trains here we hear at night and rumble very slowly through our town.

Wishing you a good week ahead!

170 miles per hour...can't even imagine, makes my hair rat just thinking about it...but cool shot.

Very soothing photo. Love the colors and the moderness of it.

I second sweet repose on her response to the 170 mph Shinkansen!

As Sandra Ree mentioned, your shadow shot looks like art. Many of them do & it is something I love about them. You always have such a lovely take on shadows, so subtle and sweet. What a great eye you have, the way you see things. Always amazes me, and inspires me :) Have a wonderful Sunday!

Interesting account of your train ride.

Nice shot, and interesting tid-bit. We don't have high speed trains around here. But we do have a slow moving narrow gage, it takes riders from the redwood forest mountains down to the beach. It's the most beautiful ride. Some days we hear it and some we don't.

Boy! We need something like that here!! I really like that photo. It has so much texture. At first I thought it was a painting of a shadow. Very nice!!

Lovely shadow - it is so soft - it doesn't look like it is on concrete at all - before we read your post we thought it was wood. It has a great texture!
Enjoy your week!!

The lighting and the shading are surreal. It gives me a sense of not a picure but a painting?

summer, I think the colors on the concrete plus my sharpening of the image made the pic look like wood.

tanybug, the shadow shots are fun to do. Everyone is welcome to join.
