Bee and Orange Blossoms - shadow shot sunday

The orange blossoms are in full bloom.  I spent some time trying to get close enough to get a shot.  The buzzing sound of the bees and the sweet fragrance of the blossoms was hypnotic.

Great shot . . . I recently bought a new macro lens and am waiting patiently for the butterflies and bees to come and visit so I can try taking some pics.

The bee is truly busy, the nectar needed for nutrition in the swarming hive. She is so hard at work, she doesn't notice (nor care about) the photographer working at her craft. We viewers are happy of the unaware insect, because the capture is great! Bees and flowers say 'spring' better than anything!

You must have a great camera to capture those shots. They are such close up shots, I can see the detail of the bees and the flowers.
Thanks for sharing!!

Gosh you sure are brave to get that close to a bee. I do love bees but don't fancy their stings! Lovely lovely photos! And a sweet coincidence as I just planted some of those orange blossoms this morning. I hope they grow up to be as beautiful as yours :)

Blue-eyed Siamese Cat flies to Japan

Today was filled with my art and time with Sputnik. She was bathing herself which gave me the chance to catch a photo of her. I actually adopted Sputnik as a kitten in 1998 when I was living in Mexico. She made the long trip with me to Japan on July 25, 2004. It took me about 6 months to plan the logistics of bringing her from Mexico to Japan. Since I had to fly via the U.S. on Mexicana Airlines and Korean Airlines, that meant 4 countries and two airlines would need to approve her transport. There were many details to keep track of for each country and airline. After 6 months of stressful planning, 16 hours of two airline flights and layovers, She made it to Japan safely! Korean Air allowed her to fly with me as my carry-on luggage, which was a relief for me. No worrying about whether she was scared or left at the Los Angeles airport! I didn't give her any tranquilizer to sedate her. Yet, she was quiet the entire flight and went unnoticed by other passengers. I h

Waiting, A Tunic and The Japan Post Office

I love shopping at Etsy. I usually buy handmade soap and lotion, but recently I bought a handmade tunic from India. It arrived on April 7, but I was taking a nap so I didn't hear the doorbell. I am not sure how it works in other countries, but in Japan, the postal worker leaves a card with details about your package and a telephone number to call for re-delivery. I called the 24 hour automated hotline and rescheduled the delivery for April 9th, between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. This week's shadow shot is of the envelope and tag that the post office added for the redelivery. The red kanji-chinese characters say "afternoon." By the way, I am in love with the tunic ! The cotton material and embroidered design are beautiful. Shadow Shot Sunday is hosted by Hey Harriet .
