delicate summer flowers

summer flowers

There are so many different plants here in Washington and many that I am discovering for the first time.

These delicate, berry-like flowers were on bushes that lined the hiking trail we were on.

What little treasures have you found this week?

LOVELY photo image, Juana! What is that flower, do you know? This week a treasure found me, in the form of a gift--a hagstone necklace given to me by a friend. :o) Happy Weekend ((HUGS))

Tracy, I wish I knew what kind of bush this is, but most of these plants in this Northern State are new to me.

Clarice, so fun indeed!

Ms. Becky good to see you again. The hairs really surprised me.

Annie and Robin, thank you.

bird watching and staying home for the summer

Fake Journal, raincoat, letters to antigone

fake journal 2012 I love blog hopping which is how I found Roz's IFJM blog.  For the month of April, participants keep a fake journal that is outside of their regular visual journal . My mind started leaping with ideas. In the next few weeks, you'll see posts titled "Fake Journal" on my blog. I dug up this old journal that I had refused to throw away 'cuz I knew some day it would have a purpose. For the cover, I collaged one of my failed paintings and wrote a short message. I've been carting it around with me since 2008, from Japan to Mexico to California and now Washington. fake journal page one Journal : 8.25 x 5.5 notebook with kraft paper pages and blue ballpoint pen Letters to Antigone Cover : 4 x 6 140# watercolor paper, line drawing with black micron pen, monoprint tissue paper collaged onto drawing with pieces ripped off.

summer bicycle camping

View this post on Instagram Took the weekend off and did some bicycle-camping. . . #bicycle #camping #whidbeyisland #bicycletravel #bicycletrip #bicycletouring A post shared by GalleryJuana (@galleryjuana) on Aug 18, 2019 at 6:18pm PDT Above is the view from our camping trip in August.  Unfortunately, I twisted my ankle pretty badly on a morning hike, so most of this trip was spent in the tent.  Fortunately, the view above our tent was wonderful and I enjoyed just literally doing nothing.  Isn't that the meaning of taking a vacation?  The ankle was workable just in time for the bicycle ride home.  Yay:) View this post on Instagram This is from a June Nicole-camping trip at Fort Ebey State park.
